1. Correction of polarizing lens of polarizing microscope
(1) Determine the vibration direction of the lower polarizer (polarizer): push the upper polarizer (analyzer) out of the mirror, and use only the lower polarizer to observe the workbench. Rotate the worktable, when the biotite cleavage seam is parallel to the vibration direction of the lower polarizer, the biotite absorbs the strongest mica, which is dark brown at this time; when the cleavage seam is perpendicular to the vibration direction of the polarizer, the biotite absorbs The sex is weak, at this time the crystal appears light yellow, based on this, the vibration direction of the polarizer can be determined.
(2) Adjust the vibration direction of the lower polarizer to be parallel to the cross line of the eyepiece reticle: Parallel the biotite cleavage seam to the cross line of the eyepiece reticle, and turn the lower polarizer until the biotite appears dark brown. At this time, the vibration direction of the lower polarizer is parallel to the horizontal wire, and its engraved line should be aligned with 0° or 180°.
(3) Make sure that the vibration directions of the upper polarizer (analyzer) and the lower polarizer (polarizer) are orthogonal: take out the biotite slice and push it into the upper polarizer. If the field of view is dark, the upper and lower polarizers will be polarized. The direction of mirror vibration is orthogonal; otherwise, turn the upper polarizer until the field of view is the darkest.
2. How to adjust the center of the polarizing microscope objective lens
(1) Observe the slice on the rotating table, find a small black spot in the slice, and place it at the center of the crosshair of the eyepiece.
(2) Rotate the worktable. If the center O of the optical axis of the objective lens is inconsistent with the center of the worktable, the black dot will leave the center of the cross and rotate around a circle. The center S of the circle is the center of the workbench.
(3) Rotate the small black dot to the point farthest from the center of the cross line, and rotate the two adjusting screws on the objective lens holder to move the small black dot from position 1 to the midpoint of the O-1 line (that is, 1 dot from the cross line). Half of the line center distance).
(4) Repeating the above three steps in this way can make the optical axis of the objective lens coincide with the center of the rotating table.
After seeing the specimen under high magnification, move the part that needs further magnification to the center of the field of view. Raise the lens barrel or lower the stage about 1.5 cm. Turn the objective lens away from the optical axis, and place a drop of cedar oil on the part to be observed on the cover glass, and raise the diaphragm to its maximum. Replace the oil lens, carefully adjust the coarse focus screw, make the oil lens slowly descend or slowly rise the stage, observe the distance between the lower end of the oil lens and the specimen from the side, when the lower end of the oil lens starts to touch the oil droplets Can be stopped. Observe from the eyepiece and adjust the fine focus screw until the specimen image is clearly seen.
After the observation is completed, raise the lens barrel or lower the stage, turn the oil lens away from the optical axis, gently absorb the oil on the oil lens and the cover glass with dry lens cleaning paper, and then use the lens cleaning paper soaked in xylene Wipe it two or three times, and finally wipe it with clean lens cleaning paper two or three times.
Treatment after the three observations
Cleaning: Clean the dirt (residue or dust) on the microscope with lens cleaning paper. If it is not clean, wipe it with a little xylene.
Placement of the various parts of the microscope: After wiping, turn the objective lens away from the optical axis, turn the reflector to the direction perpendicular to the stage to reduce dust sticking to it, and then put on the lens sleeve and put it back into the lens box carefully. Save it for later use.
⒈Wipe the optical part
Sequence: Blow the ear ball-brush, brush and feather lightly-wipe lightly with lens wiping paper-wipe lightly with lens wiping paper dipped in xylene.
Moldy and foggy lens surface can be wiped lightly with lens cleaning paper dipped in a small amount of alcohol and ether mixture (3:7). Moldy and fogging on the inner surface cannot generally be removed, so prevent it from happening.
⒉Wipe the mechanical part
Wipe with a clean soft cloth, or lightly wipe with lens wiping paper dipped in xylene. Do not use alcohol or ether, because these reagents will corrode the paint and easily wipe off the paint.
Moisture-proof, dust-proof, anti-corrosion and heat release.
